Hi,
Wifey runs a 2004 Audi A4 cabrio 1.8 20 valve which, generally, runs well. It's the BFB engine, if that helps.
However, when started from cold it runs badly with a pronounced misfire for the first thirty seconds or so. Sometimes it needs a bit of cranking before it'll fire. After that, it soon sorts itself out and runs normally thereafter.
Staring from warm can have a slight misfire, but then OK.
It has had new plugs, a bottom hose temp sensor, and the cam shaft position sensor looks OK.
Also, it tends to use water, but with no obvious signs of leaking and nothing untowward from the tail pipe. I fitted a new head gasket in 2022 as well as a timing belt kit, water pump and a new radiator.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Pete.
