Good evening! First time poster so please bare with me…The alarm in my car is going off from time to time. Around the same time the rear passenger door started acting up (window working on and off and door sometimes not locking / unlocking). I have since noticed that there is a disconnected black wire (with a fuse in it) near the battery. The garage ran diagnostics and it came back with error codes 01598 011 and 01333 004. They diagnosed rear door module and said the small black (disconnected) wire was irrelevant. Please could I get a second opinion here? The alarm is the main concern in the short term! For the last month I have just been disconnecting the battery after each drive, but this is getting old.

01598 - Drive Battery Voltage: Signal too Low

01333 - Door Control Module Rear Left (J388): Defective

Those are pretty self explanatory. If the battery is weak that can trigger the alarm but I haven’t experienced a door lock unit being responsible. What they needed to look at is in measuring blocks and in there is a record of the last four alarm triggers. The most common reason, apart from a faulty siren, is screen wash corrosion damage to the tailgate catch micro switch, when the alarm triggers, do the indicators flash and with the tailgate open, does the dash warning show?

Thanks for the response. When the alarm goes the indicators do flash. When I open the boot it does show up on the dash. If it was the boot catch would there have been another error code for that one? One other potentially relevant piece of info, one day the battery was dead in the morning - RAC jumped it and said the battery was fine but it does take a little longer to start these days (not sure whether RAC load test or just do something else…. I had just assumed the alarm had run it down without waking me. Might a new battery be the best starting point? Thanks again.

We see a lot of failed sirens triggering the alarm but these leave a fault code. You need to get the last four triggers viewed.
