Just checking as it looks more complicated than in the past
My 2017 Passat Estate GT 1.8 TSI 180PS looks as if it needs a new battery.
VW are some distance away but Halfords Autocentre are nearby.
Does the car need special codes to fit the battery only available to VW?
    Any comments welcome.
    Thanks

    Thanks Crasher, I thought so.
When I check Halfords do this, will they think I am trying to "teach them to suck eggs"?

Halfords will code your new battery but YOU NEED TO MAKE CERTAIN THAT THEY ACTUALLY DO.

I have heard stories where they have not coded, the car does not recognise it as new battery and it degrades quickly.

I believe £20 is the Halfords fitting charge and you will be covered by the warranty on the specific battery up to I believe 5 years once fitted and hopefully coded by them.
