    Hi All,

    2002 A4 B6 1.8T AVJ 5 speeed FWD Saloon.

Mot in January gave a warnings of rear subframe and arm bushing. I know that there are going to be a lot of rust gremlens to deal with and to expedite the time that the car is on the stands I was thinking of obtaining another sub frame and suspention to rebuild for my B6. Now B6 are kind of rare and expensive but I found a subframe and suspension from a 2007 B7 FWD TDI Avant for a reasonable price.

To what I have researched B6 and B7 FWD Rear Subframe and suspention are the same.

Will the subframe and associated suspension parts fit my car?

    Any help would be appreciated.

The original part number was 8E0 505 145 AR and was used in the 8E 2001 to 2008. We did a full rear end rebuild on a 2008 a few weeks ago and the subframe was a mess so we looked at a new one 3R0 505 235 and found it went obsolete last year so we had it blasted and powder coated and it came out OK. One sketch was the front hydro mounts are also obsolete and no one in the aftermarket had any except First Line who aren't great but we had no choice. The revised part number unit was used in the Exeo from 2009>2014.

Thank You Crasher, What was the part number for the front Hydro Mounts.

I am planning the same route as you did for the 2008. I can get a complete rear sub frame with suspension attached. I want to rebuild that unit, all the bushings and links, etc, At the same time upgrade the rear 245mm brakes to 300mm.

I hope I will be able to just drop the old suspension and install the refreshed one to eliminate the down time.
