I've just bought a 2017 Polo 6C 1.0 (for my GF's son to drive/learn in)
When we viewed the car, it only had 1 key without remote control. The dealer said they'd get a second key and provided one with remote buttons. The key works in the door and ignition.
The problem is that the remote buttons don't do anything, and the dealer wasn't sure if the car has remote locking.

Should a base model 2017 Polo 6C have remote locking?
Is there a way of telling the car that the remote should work with it? (I remember there's a reset procedure if the car's forgotten a remote, but don't know if that can programe a new remote to work)
What tools (VCDS, etc) would I need to program the car to accept the key remote signals?

Thanks.
