I’ve got a mk5 golf 170bhp BMN ENGINE diesel DSG.
I have a problem that I can not seem to get solved.
The car starts when I unplug no.4 injector, soon as I plug it back in…the car will not start. If I unplug any of the other injectors it does not start, only no.4 unplugged?

I went to the local scrap yard and brought 3 injectors, that all have the same part number. I have tried them all in no.4 and it does the same with all of them. I have to have it unplugged for the car to run.

I have tried the wiring harness under the rocker cover.
I have also checked continuity, from the injector harness plug to the ECU there seems to be no broken wires.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks I’m advance.

This was actually the cause of a recall with the BMN injectors and new ones are now impossible to find, even recon are scarce… I think Bosch and VAG want the BMN engines out of circulation.

Why did you buy 3 injectors when you only need 1? Did you try switching (ignoring the scrapyard ones) injector 3 (which you know is good and works) into number 4? If 3 worked fine before but not in 4 then that would rule out injector problem as your issue. Did you drive long on a bad injector? Ive seen people damage heads driving on bad injectors for too long. Did you get any injector readings from vcds etc to see what they are doing?
