    Hi, The battery has gone completely dead so the key fobs can't work. The emergency plastic key does not work either presumably there is a contact that needs power there. It looks like there may be access to the bonnet cable by taking off the plastic sump guard, I'd be grateful for any advice please.

    I thought the door lock via the plastic key was mechanical.

    Thanks for that, I had thought so too but it didn't and I was wary of forcing in case it broke. A big dose of GT85 and a good poke around with a lock pick loosened off the corrosion. Probably from the tons of salt on winter roads up here in the cold and frosty north. Thanks again.

    For future occurance if you have the grill with the removable badge, you can twist off the bonnet badge, pull it out and behind the lock is a plastic guide behind which is the cable. With a pair of long nose pliers, a coat hanger hook or other rod you can lever the cable until the bonnet pops. You can then remove your battery for charging.
