    Hi all,

Can anyone help with an issue that has me a little perplexed.

The owner says the bulb light came on after the battery was replaced but none of the bulbs are out.

I have scanned the car and it has returned two codes:

I can clear them both which turns the dash bulb warning light off, but the ABS one comes back.

Any suggestions as to where to look would be much appreciated.

I haven't seen that ABS code before so I would put it on ODIS under Guided Fault Finding but not many indi's have ODIS.

I had the car back this weekend to do an oil and filter change....and guess what, the fault light returned as I was reversing the car off my drive. This time I took a photo of it.

    20240413_131300.jpg

The car was switch off and parked up for a few minutes while I went to grab my VCDS. I opened the bonnet just to check I hadn't done something silly during the oil change, and closed it again. Scanned the car, but not error code this time, so I decided to test drive it again but the light had disappeared.

The only thing that has happened both times, that the owner has not done, is open the bonnet.......could be a coincidence. Here's a photo of the light.

The last time this happened I mentioned it to someone who suggested it isn't necessarily an ABS issue and could be caused by a faulty wire in the door loom. He could be right but it's the bonnet in this case. I didn't care to look as I needed to return the car, but no doubt there may be a further update if it returns.

I suspect you have a poor connection in a bulb holder and shutting the bonnet gives it a good rattle.

check the stop/reverse light + additionally check whether you have not installed some led bulbs that draw too little current, which causes the burnt bulb error.
