2 month old car has just started to randomly try and connect to the VW breakdown service via the onboard eSIM connection. Only way to stop it seems to be to do a factory reset and not then not add any users so it is only in guest mode and thus has not VW Connect service. It also seems to be turning off the function that turns on interior lights when the door open. Not sure if this is a hardware fault or a software fault. Because both the breakdown call button and the button to activate the interior light setting on the same overhead panel I thinking this may be the issue but then again could be software. Any one had similar experiences? Any thoughts?

Update on this. Issue arose again recently when the weather got cold and coincidently when it happened it turned of off the function to switch on the interior lights when opening the door. Car went in to the dealer this week (once they had fixed my Tiguan 3!!), and as suspected the issue is with the overhead panel that that contains the interior lights and has the touch switches for the interior lights, VW Assist and the VW Concierge service. New panel ordered (was on back order) and will be fitted next week. Frustrating that the dealer was fairly certain as to what the fault was but was not allowed to order the part until they had seen the car meaning 2 trips for me. Hopefully this will be the end of this issue

Had this issue with my 2020 Golf Style 150 shortly after buying it as a VW approved used car with less than 2000 miles on it. The dealer recalled it; I wasn't allowed to drive it away (safety issue they said) and they had it for about 2 weeks while the part was imported from Germany (or east Asia?). New overhead panel cured this fault but there were plenty others, new steering wheel and eventually battery seems to have stopped most but I still get the odd "system unavailable" message.
