    Hi

As part of trying to find door locking problem I took out glove compartment which required to disconnect the airbag cables. At that point I started getting 'airbag faulty' on my dashboard. When put back all the compartment I reconnected the cables back. However, the fault message still remained on the dashboard. So, I decided to use an ODBII adapter and car scanner app to clear airbag error code. However, the message still is coming up but ODBII adapter is not reading any airbag faulty codes no matter how many times I tried to rescan. I am lost.

    Thanks

OBDll deals with the emissions, it was a legal requirement for the manufacturers to make this accessible with standard protocol. For other electrical functions each manufacturer generally has their own protocols for communication. You'll need a different tool, one able to access vw specific modules, to clear the fault.

You need something like VCDS, not a toy code reader.
