Well it was nice to have it back on the road for a week after the timing belt and waterpump change. It was running nicely and I'd missed that smooth effortless V6 drive but I've now been scuppered by a perished hose which unfortunately Audi stopped supplying last year apparently and I cant seem to find one for love nor money . Hose #059121096F (oil cooler to waterpipe) is soft, baggy, ballooned at one end and leaking. Nothing old or new on ebay, nothing in UK or Europe that I can find. MOT due in 3 weeks and it will be frustrating if a £15 hose ends the cars life as I don't really have anywhere off road to put it sans MOT.

Does anyone happen to know of any secret discontinued parts hoarders / suppliers?

I just Googled "Hose #059121096F " here in France and got many results, including this https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/s...mpn/059121096f

Or try eBay or a breaker.

Yes me too. I actually ordered the one from lllparts and 2 days later got an email saying..

"We are contacting you regarding your order

Sadly, all of our warehouses and the manufacturer have confirmed that this item is out of stock everywhere.

The manufacturer is no longer producing this item.

Unfortunately, we are not able to process your order further.

In this case, we will send you a full refund for your order."

Clicking through to any search result shows the item but 'out of stock', or 'unavailable'. Same with any ebay result

    Thanks for checking though

Is it possible use corrugated reinforced hose, even if it is somewhat longer to accommodate the bends? At least to get the car through its MOT test.

You don't even need reinforced hose to make the bends, I once used a length of moped inner tube to replace a top coolant hose on a car stuck on a rural road in Spain, in the 1960's.

We doubled the tube on itself at least once, for strength. When it was stretched between the radiator and the engine it narrowed down considerably, but magically expanded to just the right size once the system had pressurised.

The biggest problem was persuading the moped repair shop to part with a tube for us to cut up, as they were precious to him in those days. He finally agreed to sell us one of several heavily patched used tubes decorating the workshop walls, on condition he kept the valve.........

Heh, very inventive Sounds like some good adventures back in the day

Yes I suppose seeing if I can find an alternative hose that might roughly fit or be made to fit is my remaining option if I can't get hold of an original.

On the parts system this hose is shown as being available from Audi Tradition. In the UK they are impossible to deal with, they say due to Brexit, but I have managed to set up an account and I do need to put an order into them for the S2 I am restoring. According to their web site they are shut until the 27th

So I managed to find another site that said they had the hose. I was expecting to get a similar cancellation email to the one I got from LLL parts after a couple of days but instead got a despatched notification and a couple of days later it dropped through my letterbox. Big shout out to Genuine, discounted, Ford, VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Vauxhall, Opel, Toyota, Lexus, Renault, Nissan, MG, Rover, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Volvo, and Tata parts shipped Worldwide
