Hi, I wonder if someone could provide me with information on where to find the above relay, I think it's J403?
All the info I can find relates to left hand drive vehicles and obviously I can see my UK car is different. I think it may be in one of the boxes on one or other side of the "plenum" area under the front scuttle. I have found a diagram of a relay holder for a RHD car showing the position of the J403 relay but I'm struggling to find where that actual holder is. I can get the cover off the nearside box which houses the ECU but I can't see it in there. I can't get the cover off the box on the offside yet, I'm going to have to remove at least one of the wiper arms - they are stuck hard and I've just broken my cheapo puller and am waiting for a better one to arrive. I swapped the relay and pump on my C5 Allroad a few years ago, there seemed to be a bit more info available on that one. Any help appreciated!

Many thanks Crasher, I'll be in there as soon as I get that wiper arm off! I'll post back to confirm, hopefully with a photo.

It was the box on the driver's side as you said. It was the relay marked 643 in the photo. The part number of the original relay was 8K0 951 253, which is a 40A relay (the new one I was supplied with the pump was only a 30A so I've used a Bosch equivalent which is rated at 70A).

The cover was a pig to get off and even harder to get back on:
    1. Take off rubber seal and plenum cover, then remove the wiper arms (I needed a decent puller). It might be possible to get away without taking the passenger side arm off but I removed both.
    2. Remove 2 torx screws in the centre of the wiper cover moulding so it can be bent up to make room to get the box lid out.
    3. Remove 5 x T30 screws from the box lid. One is very difficult to see and reach.
    4. Pull off the lid (very fiddly) and change the relay - wiggle and pull to get the old one out.
    5. If you think getting the lid off was difficult, wait until you try to get it back on! There are two location points at the rear which have to be engaged before it will fit into place. Took me about 10 mins and a lot of skin damage - just as I thought it was impossible it slipped into place!
    6. Put everything else back in reverse order. Don't forget the wipers won't work if the bonnet isn't fully closed - I thought I'd pulled a connector out when I tried them!

There was a huge amount of dead leaves and other compost around the rear and sides of the box. I cleared all that out at the same time, I had visions of a drain hole blocking and water getting into the box.

Next job is to change the pump. I think I can get at it by taking off the engine undertray, the RH front wheel and undoing the front of the RH wheel arch liner. Hopefully won't have to take off the front bumper and headlight. Crasher are you (or anyone else) able to confirm I'm correct?

Thanks again for the advice and help, much appreciated.

No, sorry to disappoint you! I did find three white feathers in amongst all the dead leaves though, which was a bit weird.
Any ideas on my query about the easiest way to access the air compressor?/
Also, I opened up the old relay and checked the contacts - there was quite a lot of wear on them but no sign of any burning. The car has 95k miles on the clock and I would think it's the original relay so I would guess it wouldn't have lasted an awful lot longer, particularity as the compressor is probably running a lot more now as it's struggling to build pressure.
