In my 56 Touareg I have the sat nav pack with the V3 DVD. I'm sure I'm not the first person to complain about this, it is so basic and lacking in locations/roads/detail that is next to useless! After spending the money on the Altitdue pack with the Sat Nav etc I dont particualrly want to now buy an additional Sat Nav to sit alongside the fitted one!

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade DVD that can be purchased, v4 or v5 or preferrably an after market DVD as they are usually better?

    Thanks
    M

The mapping DVD's are supplied by Teleatlas. The latest version can be purchased direct from navshop.com Teleatlas' on line shop.

There is no alternative to using these disks unfortunately. Out of interest, what sort of details are you missing? There are a lot of points of interest, just make sure the icons are switched on.

Thanks for the info. I live in Northern Ireland and only A roads & motorways are listed with none of the smaller towns and I'm told its not much better in the rest of the UK. Some people I know have the becker sat nav which is a few years old and paid £199 for it and it is unbelievable how superior it is to mine.

    Tks

My Sat Nav is the Balupunkt one fitted into a 55 Plate Passat Sport, however the TMC will not work in the UK as VW wont pay the fee.

They also say that TMC is only availabe in Europe. What a load of tosh!!

Its been here for the best part of 8 years.

As my system and my Golf 56 plate GTTDi run the same sysetm, ther are not DVD upgrades for this from Teleatlas.

VW suggested that they can send me an updated CD as it has the TMC working on that as they now supply only CD operated systems.

Dont know what planet of the apes they employ from?

Anyone else have the same problem or have managed to source a DVD which does have the working TMC codes on?

I have a 06 model 2.5tdi sport and the Sat Nav is a disaster.

I have the version 4 of the sat nav europe and believe it is no better.

There is the new RNS510 with touch screen but can cost £1000+ fro ebay.

Would like to see it in operation before changing as the one i have constantly is showing me to be Off Road.

I was in Cork at the week end and my Brother in law has a pioneer sat nav/dvd.bluetooth fitted to hs A$ S-line. it made the Touareg sat nav look like a child compared to it. Disgrace for a reputable company like VW

    Hope this helps

Admins? I'm a moderator, not an admin.
