With a CAYC engine an Air Mass Meter issue can become more complex, is the "flow straightener" (AKA expresso tube) still in there?

Hi Crasher, I'm back on this pesky A1! I have not as yet done the EGR because car was at uni with her and having sorted the other matters it was behaving except occasional glow plug squiggle light on.
It now does that and then also MIL light sometimes...
    P0101 code again as before.
I know you said the EGR;s are often at fault, but you also mentioned an expresso tube air pipe?? which one is that...though I am pretty sure it is all stock. Regards

I would fit a new Air Mass Meter first.

Did that at the start of it all because thats the code! as background the car has about 135K on it now and no evidence of an EGR on it before us. It has displayed the glow plug light often, the MIL light occasional but not gone into Limp. The code always the same being Air Mass.

Where did the new AMM come from and is the car standard, i.e. no EGR delete?

Car standard Crasher, no EGR delete...did not know it could even be deleted on that nasty EGR under engine!
The AMM I honestly cant recall but I think it was supposedly OEM...it gives the same code as the original one I took out.
I guess I could use a known good one to put in it to eliminate the new AMM as a continued issue.
