Hey, went to change the flywheel on a dl501 stronic and when the old flywheel.was removed the rotor had a safety pin on it. The mechanic said it s not supposed to be there and it is weird. I didn t recive the car yet but i was wondering if anyone knows why was the pin there. I bought the car sh so i don t know the gull history.

The 0B5 box, my favorite... not! No idea why that is there, nothing on ETAK or ELSA certainly not seen anything like it but with these boxes when (not if) they go wrong we either scrap the car or the box as you can't buy a VAG recon, they won't rebuild them as they are such a POS. I have one in on Tuesday for an ATF change in a futile attempt to save the car.

Thanx for the reply. I called a buddy at the audi dealership, because i bought it from there ( prob a buy back) and he said that the engine was replaced under warranty for the first owner. He guessed that the mechanic at that time used the pin to hold something in place or something. We ll see when i get my car back on monday. Anyway thins particular gearbox if maintained corectly, like i do, can last a long time, not like a zf but.... Car has 240k km and no clutch slipping, no solenoids in the mecha acting up. Keeping fingers crossed. Thanx angain for the reply Crasher
