I've just bought a 2012 Q7 S-line. The garage had the steering column changed I think due to a fault, and it took almost 8 weeks to get the part from Audi, which was fitted by a non-dealer specialist in Glasgow. When I picked the car up last week, a new offside geadlamp unit had been fitted. The lens was pretty bad so I assumed they changed it to get it through the MOT. I drove the car home, but within a mile, a fault light showed up on the dash saying the right side dipped headlamp was faulty. I took the car back today and they cleared the fault but it returned after a mile or so driving.
I used to own a 2014 Volvo XC90 and they had fault codes if the bulbs were non-compatible.
Any ideas on what I should look for here? Compare bulbs seems an obvious one, or does the new bulb/headlamp unit need coded into the car? Going back to the car dealer seems a waste of time.
The nearside headlamp unit is the original.

Other question - how much is it to buy/obtain a second key for the car?
    Many thanks.

It has Pr8BP Bi functional gas discharge lights and there could be all sorts of reasons for the warning so firstly you need to get a code read done and if possibly, get the part number of the new unit they fitted.

The garage gave me the box that the new unit came in - one label has AD8324923VA : SO-2981214 from Arnold Clark Autos.
The label says Audi Q7 10>15
    Headlight Bi-Xenon (OEM/OES) R/H

Knowing nothing about bulbs, is this a different bulb type to the one you have mentioned ?

An Audi garage found the offside light has been wired via the nearside headlamp. With cables altered, they suspect a central ecu fault.
