    Hey all

I was on the open road and over took another vehicle, I was in 6th gear and accelerated and as I moved back into my lane I backed off accelerating and when I wanted to accelerate again there was no power. I presume the car went into limp mode, while still moving I turned the car off and then back on and power was restored. This isnt the 1st time it has done this.

When I got home I scanned the car with VCDS and it came back with no errors????

The car has had a new turbo fitted a couple of months back, So I don't suspect it is sticking vanes. Other than the incident mentioned the car drives really well, it boosts great from low RPM and pulls well through the rev range. I noticed that it will only do this at speed when under load like overtaking a car or going up a hill.

    Any recommendations?

What year and engine type code? Clearly it went into limp mode, which version of VCDS are you using?

    Hi,

My 2.0 GT TDi did this after having a new turbo fitted (BKD engine).

I got fault code for Turbo Overboost P0234; only happened once because I drove it gently afterwards keeping rpm down so as not to risk any damage without knowing what had caused the limp mode, so didn't trigger warning light and register as an active fault on the VCDS I was using. Checked for stored codes instead and found it logged.

On checking engine it was found that the Air Intake Pipe and Turbo Boost Pipe were both split (I suspect lazy garage doing half a job when fitting new turbo and re-using the old pipes without checking properly for leaks; not my first choice and not gone back there!). Both replaced and issue gone.

You need to scan and find a code for starters though...
