    Does anyone know why the "Basic Settings" is greyed out on my VCDS as per screen shot attachment.

    First question I suppose is this a GENUINE interface you are using?

    Well they are not the friendliest to ask a question, you have to be very precise in what you ask.
    Anyway, I went to 01 Engine in the program and Basic settings is not greyed out, but it is using 09 central electrics !, I have only had it just over a week, so still getting used to it.

    I know they like people to post a full autoscan, this is not only to show how a car is configured but they can tell if the interface is genuine, no idea how lol

    I have always found them helpful

    How long would a full scan take ?,it takes a age to load up a module 😊

    Not used mine for a while but usually about 10 mins I would say maybe less, just depends on how many modules it has to scan..

    Based on the serial number you provided when you joined our forum, I rather doubt it.

    That said, what makes you think that a PQ35 BCM has any Basic Settings?
