    Hi all,

So recently bought a 2016 Q7 4M. Only had to fill it a couple of times so far but every time I have had issues with the nozzle constantly kicking back. Can't seem to get the nozzle in far enough. I assume this is a common problem? Have I just been unlucky with wrong nozzle sizes at the different stations or is there some trick I don't know?

I see this is a very common problem across Audi as a whole it seems, and not even unique to diesel models. I have seen the kits you can buy but that surely isn't necessary? Also read to try turning the nozzle to 7pm or totally upside can work and/or only pushing the nozzle about 1 inch in. Is this really the case for all of you out there? Has it just become a knack that you have gotten used to?

Often this is the petrol miss fuelling device which can be removed by an Audi dealer or specialist.

I'm guessing you could see my next question coming. Does it have to be done by an Audi dealer/specialist? Is it not possible to remove yourself? (And is this the most common solution?)

This is what I have in mine.

Amazing! Thank you so much. I'll give this a go.

As it happens I did manage to get fuel in by doing the 7 'o' clock thing with the nozzle but I'll still remove the protector as it is just easier and we are used to diesels for the last 8+ years so unlikely to put wrong fuel in now.

Removed this morning following the above guide thanks! Someone else must have already had a go at this as the locking ring didn't require the tab releasing, it was just rolling around loose in there.

Is there a download of the workshop manual anywhere?

    Thanks again.
