Replaced Battery Beeping Noise

This morning I installed a new battery in the car but once connected a beeping noise occurs. Any ideas please?

I've just had a message from my local Audi dealer and they said that the new battery will require coding to the battery management system. My car is 06/07 and so I didn't think that would be necessary given its age.

There is some difference of opinion on whether it should be a 027 or 096, I would have fitted a 096 but I can't see a 027 being a problem and no it certainly doesn't need coding so as for the beep, my guess is an aftermarket device of some sort. Where is the beep coming from?
