    Hi all,
Ihave just signed up to get help about my MK5 Golf SDI. My aircon had a minor leak and the refrigerant lasted about 8 weeks.
This year i thought i'd get the super seal air con sealant while i get the gas topped up.

The technician started the car, switched on the aircon. recharged some gas to kick in the aircon and then attached the super seal to low port. He then noticed that the sealant was not going in. Hence he removed the low port pressure pin and manually inserted the sealant to ensure the can is fully empty.
He then topped up the gas. All of this while the aircon was switched on as far as I recall.

Now for a few hours it was working fine. After that, the ac radiator fan (Golf Mk5 SDI single fan) started to kick in with a delay. So if I switched the engine off and then turned it on, the aircon would take 5-10 mins to switch on. After about a day, the fan stopped kicking in. I even had the low pressure switch changed because it is prone to failure. However, the system now does not take any more refrigient because the fan does not turn on.
I am beyond dissapointed and helpless. It is so much expensive to get the air con repaired and now that I don’t even know what is wrong with it I am being quoted hundreds of Pounds just to get it diagnosed.

The original technican did not vaccuum the system. I think that since he had not vaccummed it and over filled the system, either the sealant has reacted with the air inside the system and caused blockage thereby not allowing the referiegient to flow freely, or it is still at high pressure. The low and high pressure guagues don’t indicate a blockage though.
Now the aircon cooling fan does not kick in at all. I am just super disappointed in myself and have no clue what to do. One of the top guys in my town thinks it could be a wiring issue and he needs hours to diagnose. i still think he should try vacuuming the system and see if it works otherwise i should just sit back

Modulated delivery compressors do not like sealant, it blocks the valve.

Thanks, do you think vacuuming the system and putting a new compressor could fix ?
