I think it depends on which MMI you have. If it's MMI 2G or MMI 3G low, then no. If you have MMI 3G high, there are upgrades out there:

MMi 3G High 2020 or 2017Maps 7 digit postcode with latest firmware update

Is your car a facelift model with MMI 3G High? The MMI unit will be in the glovebox rather than the boot, and there will be a "top hat" joystick on top of the rotary MMI controller knob.

    Cheers!

I have the MMI 3G low so have the rubbish postcode search, but I decided to update the 2010 maps. Took ages, had to try the "firmware update" several times, the result is a navigation system that I never use. It gives stupid routes, and gives ridiculous arrival times. My advice is to stick with your separate satnav or app on your phone.

Thanks for your reply, if not for the info! Only just got the car so still working through the niggles.. seems I might have to invest in a satnav + 30 more BHP!

Thought about it but they are a big fraction of the cars worth and a eg TomTom satnav is cheaper!
