    Hi,

Been searching through the forums and found something similar to the issue I'm having in the A6 forum but not a definitive answer.
Low Brake pad warning light came on and found the the outer circumference on the disc had worn a lip which worked it's way through the sensor. When I took the pad out with the sensor in, the two core wire came away in my hand. I duly changed the pads (even though there was plenty of wear left in them) but the warning light stays on. Scanned with VCDS with no apparent fault code present. I suspected a dodgy sensor on the new pad so created a shorting circuit at the plug, still the same.
Is the signal purely closed or open? I mean there's no particular resistance value required, just a straight forward switch? If so, looks like I'm left with tracing the wires back from the socket to wherever they go to as it would seem an open circuit somewhere further back.
Does anyone know where the terminations are so I can simply create a dummy signal at source and thereby bypassing the wiring going down to the pad? It'll save me a whole lot of time
    Thanks in advance.......JJ

Usually it is the left front harness failing internally, they are available as a repair part but are supposed to be run through to the ABS unit, most people splice them in. There are three different versions according to VIN, all are £92.38
