    Hi all,

I have a '10 plate Leon mk2. The heater and cigarette lighter have stopped working but every 1 in 20 trips it will randomly work. At first the heater would only work on max (no.4) setting, so I changed the heater resitor pack but before i changed it, it stopped working on max heating too. I have checked all the fuses by eye and none are blown. Please advise.

I need to look at the wiring diagram at work but a code scan may show a faulty ignition switch.

It did, and after reading simialr threads I was hoping that was my problem too. I ordered a replacement, fitted it today and it didn't make a difference.

Ohh well, it needed doing anyway, it would have let you down. Looking at the wiring diagram I can see that the feed to a number of fuses could have failed as the fan and the cigar lighter are on this circuit but so are many other systems, dash side fuses 12 (door controllers), 13 (diagnostic socket), 14 (auto box), 15 (BCM interior lights), 16 (AC controller panel), 22 (fan), 23 (Doors), 24 (lighter), 25 (heated rear window relay) and 26 (fuel pump) so only fan and power/cig sockets doesn't make sense.
