    Hello All,

I have VCDS and when I connect to the car a 2018 A5 2.0TFSI it sees all modules and I can connect to them. All except the Convenience Module at address 46 which seems a little odd.

I wanted to enable the beep on lock unlock confirmation.

There are no noticeable problems with the car which is new to me.

Does the car even have a module at address 46? I’ve found some information on the net and intimates that the module is a sudo one and does not reply exist. But all VCDS tweak information seems to point to the module. The car is still under a limited warranty with the dealer we purchased it from.

It’s also booked in with Audi next week for a gearbox service as we can’t be sure it has been done. Would they let us know if there was a problem from this service?

    Many thanks

    T

I activated this in my 07 A6 with long coding as yo say comfort system 46, and recently in my new to me 2012 Q5, however i am using OBDeleven and it has a 1 touch app for this mod. Then I discovered that the beep conformation can also be done via the MMI!

Do a CAN BUS list scan and see if address 46 is listed in the installation list.

Check today. Defiantly in the list of available modules. Also shows as coded in the CAN gateway. Might try a different computer as the one I use is pretty slow.

Interesting as if my memory is correct you should be able to access address 46 even with the ignition off, does the CAN BUS report a communications error?

    Hi Crasher,

Yep it gives a comms error. Makes a few attempts to connect and then times out with the error. Been in the ******** today for a gearbox service and they made no comment. I guess they don’t even attempt to scan for errors.
