The sensor is part number 059 919 501 A and VAG UK Dorden depot has 174 in stock but at £60.66 they can stick it where the sun don't shine and I would buy the Febi three piece kit 32510 which you can get on Amazon prime for £6.50!

Just taken sensor out and it's black, with part number 078 919 501c. Presuming this febi bilstein will still work OK? It's different OEM part number....

The sensor is definitely still off the shelf from any VAG group main dealer as is the previous version of the sensor used until mid 99 so I would say they are lying and don’t want to help you which is very poor and the individual in question would be in the deepest of **** if anyone senior found out.

Next time they screw you around, ask me (and remind me of the VIN) and we will see if we can catch them out and get this practice stopped.A number of years ago I bought a nearly new TTS from them for a customer and the sales team were great.

Also remember that a lot of discontinued parts eventually end up with Audi Tradition and the parts people can see this on their ETKA display (also for VW Classic) and at the moment I think we are the only company in the UK who can order from Tradition; I had a delivery last week of a TT1 wiper motor (yes unbelievable but these are obsolete) and some more parts for a 95 S2 Avant we are restoring.
Right, interesting. I'll definitely run things by you the next time I need something. I've been told a few times by Audi Stockport that they can't get parts...

I used to have a 1995 Audi 80 which we had no problem getting parts for.

Ah, well, to be fair this was five years ago when we were getting parts for the 80! One of the best cars I've ever had that. Got to 250k and the chassis went.

Thanks for the CTS advice, I've ordered the part from amazon.

    Cheers

Changed the CTS and still same symptoms. Temp stays on 60 when driving then up to 90 only on idle. Presume its the stat.

    That's the next job.
