I have a problem with my 2003 VW Polo 1.2 6V 9N, when the engine is warm and the car is being driven at low or high speeds the engine occasionally dies intermittently and then comes back in (no lights come on the dash) I’ve had the fault codes scanned and the only one present was the ECU power control relay which I’ve replaced with a genuine VW part, I’ve also cleaned the MAP sensor and changed the crankshaft position sensor, and also fitted a new battery but the problem is still there, I don’t feel confident driving the Polo any distance now in case it breaks down, have any of the forum members any idea what the problem might be?
    Thanks in advance.

That is usually the crank speed sensor, AKA G28, the one you have to take the inlet manifold off to change.

Thanks for your reply Crasher, but I have already changed the crank speed/position sensor with a genuine VW part, any other ideas please?

In that case you have potentially illuminated the most common reason so now it gets more difficult
