    Hiya,

We have a 2016 A6 Avant. Our DAB keeps cutting out and after spending days on the internet, the consensus is that the firmware needs updating. All well and good, if you have anything other than RMC. Just rang Audi and the call-handler told me that they would need to do an investigation first, to the tune of £168 ex vat. Then I would be advised if the firmware needs updating. And then, of course, they would be happy to update the firmware for me. This seems a bit on the excessive side. It also means he was working from a script as he has no idea what the latest firmware is.

There is nowhere to find out which firmware is the latest release. Have any of you found a list of the firmware and release date?
I found a site online and that has listed as the newest firmware version RMC_EU_K16158. We have RMC_EU_P16342, which in my mind would be a newer version..... or not?

Any help or advise to do with RMC units, would be most appreciated.

What the tech at Audi would do is connect the car to ODIS and use the software version management system (SVM) to see if the installed software was current, if you can find a specialist with ODIS and GEKO security clearance they would be able to do the work for far less.

When you say cutting out, can you confirm you have nothing plugged into the 12volt sockets? Nothing at all?

Hi All, Sorry to resurect an old thread but is there a way to update the firmware on a C7 facelift. I went through the "update MMI" menu entry, selected update and SD1 but all that was updated was Bluetooth version from 3.70.3 => 3.70.6 the overall firmware is still 14321 and not 16342 (whats on the SD Card). Is there somewhere else to perform the full update ?
    Thanks Dave
