Hi all, airbag light came on, scan shows it's the passenger seat. I have seen a lot of posts for other vws having an issue with the connector under the seat, which can be rectified by removing the connector an splicing the wires. Can anyone confirm if this applies to the Sharan? Many thanks in advance as always

It depends if it is the wires or the bag, I (and VW) don't agree with splicing the wiring

Thanks Steve. So it was one of your replies to a similar thread that made me think this was the way to go...Vw have been doing it themselves?! If that's where the problem lies what would you do?

We get a few where the plugs cause issues, usually Golf 5 side bags and T5 with swivel seats and usually they respond to electrical cleaner spray or replacing the pins both sides with new Gold plated ones but that is tricky as VAG won’t sell the pins and they need a special crimping tool. The value the ECU sees the resistance at is critical.
