Message has been for a few seconds occasionally over the last few months.

I had it today and my wife explained she just ignored it!!

I have looked it up and apparently it is not necessarily software but could be gear selector faulty (pricey as just out of 5 year warranty)

My question is if she goes on ignoring it does anyone have any idea what happens next?

Not using it much (short local journeys) so will speak to VW after the holiday.

Edit later: I see now from various YouTube presentations it is a micro switch failure that has a modification fix.
My question is - is the failure just in the indication or will it cause the gearbox problems?

    Thanks

    Mike
