Hi all, I've had lots of experience with tuning Saabs (petrol and diesel) but not VAG. I now have a Passat with CBDC engine, 5 speed box and wish to pep it up a bit. I've used BSR in Sweden for 4 previous remaps without issue and they have a 170BHP map for this engine. Lots of questions!

Celtic advertise a 200+ BHP tune with no chart and I'm very skeptical of that. They also say the engine is the same as the 140 version. Also not convinced.
BSR advertise 170 and i have no reason to doubt it. What I've had before from them has always worked well. 250 Stage 3 2.0L petrol, 1.9 Vauxhall / Fiat 150 to 180 (with a lot of torque).
Is the 110 box, clutch and fuelling up to the job?
Should I aim lower and who should I choose for that?
I like the idea of a PPC / Bluefin unit to take the map out if there are any issues with emmisions or DPF or whatever.

Tuning boxes are of no interest to me. I've had one on a 2.2 Isuzu PD style engine and yes, it did make more power, but these things will always be a cludge - particularly with a common rail engine and it's flexibility.

All advise gratefully received
