    Hi all,

New to this form and after some advice re my Audi A4, which is a 2007 2.0L FSI 8EC ALT that has done circa 150,000 miles. Mostly long distance driving, with infrequent oil changes.

Over the past couple of years it has been requiring regular oil top ups. I noticed oil in the spark plug wells when I changed them so got the rocker cover gasket changed. But oil has reappeared at each of the screws holding the rocker cover gasket down. Initially I thought they hadn't been torqued properly but there also appear to be oil at a couple of other positions, including all connections to the crankcase oil breather valve as well as something else attached to the valve that I can't identify. So was wondering if there is just too much pressure somewhere that is blowing the seals.

    Couple of questions:
    1) Can anyone identify help identify the part in the attached photo? Seems to be leaking from one of the hoses attached to it.
    2) Aside from fixing the leaky parts I was planning to do an engine flush and oil change. Any thing else that I should be doing to investigate/resolve the apparent high pressure?

    Cheers

    Hi Crasher,

I've updated the original post with new photos.

    Cheers

Update: for anyone looking at this post in future, this part is the vacuum suction jet pump.
