    Hi all,

About a week ago (warm weather in the UK) on a motorway journey my glow plug light started flashing. The car went into limp mode on the motorway but i managed to get to my destination.

I then turned the car on / off once I arrived and the flashing light went away.

A few hours later I managed to drive around 50 miles (local/motorway) to get back home with no lights or issues and since then the car has done an additional 50 miles and no lights have come up.

Today I called out the AA and they gave me the following codes P00990 and P00AF00 which both point to the turbo. The roadside repair man said it could be something that came about as a result of the hot weather and to clear the codes and see how I get along.

I wanted to know if what he said sounds plausible or should I book into a garage ASAP?

P0099 bothers me, it suggests to me it should be P0299 which is underboost and P00AF is common with a leaking vacuum actuator on these engines but equally it could be a sticking turbo or a vacuum control system leak other than in the actuator, you need to take it to a mechanic rather than trying to get a breakdown organisation to diagnose it for you.
