I have a 67 plate auto Petrol A5 (B9) which was Misfueled with diesel a yeah ago, and driven.

The car was ok at the time after having had the spark plugs changed, and ran fine for approx 12 months

It recently came up with the ECU light and when plugged In threw a throttle body valve stuck error. This was cleared and then almost immediately it started misfiring / juddering under engine load - around 1k-2k revs especially when pulling away and in gear 4-5.

Garage have said that no fault codes are currently showing - my question is where tk go next.. they’re reluctant to do any work without fault codes being thrown. I’m thinking it just be throttle body? Or perhaps spark plugs? Or anything else to check?

Seems like the throttle body is a good place to start. What was the actual code?

If you know someone with VCDS you might be able to read the position, or try to do an alignment (search VCDS TBA)

Reluctant to work on a car without a code they have recently cleared sounds a little backwards to me. I'd look for another garage too.

    Thanks, not a bad idea!

I thought it odd not to do anything without a fault code. They eventually took it on a road test, fairly reluctantly I must say. And we’re unsure what could be causing it and not especially bothered about it either.

I’m supposed to be driving it to Italy and back (to Bristol UK) in two weeks so want to make sure it’s working!
