Take the vacuum source 3.2mm hose off the vacuum servo pump pipe and apply a continuous vacuum to it.

If you happen to have a large syringe then it will do to test the basic ability of the rubber pipe and actuator diaphragm to hold a vacuum.

I assume you have a code reader but not engine data logger like VCDS? The error suggests that the charge pressure system is not responding to requests for more air, which you'd be able to see if you could log the data. Cause could be turbo not generating pressure, pressure being lost in pipework or duff sensors.

i have VCDS 11.11 and tried to search for the boost logger, i saw n a youtibe video it was measuring block 115 but it must have been a dfferent version. Looking in the engine bay i have just noticed a lose wire from a terminal. not sure if it is relevant. i will try sucking a little later on

well i sucked and all seemed ok. Today I removed the turbo and the spindle was sticking, it would only turn if i forced it and there is a scraping noise coming from the exhaust size. SO a replacement turbo it is.

Is the spindle prone to seizing/sticking?
