    Help!
My car has had a coolant leak so got a mechanic out to have a look. He couldn’t find any leak, pressure test showed losing pressure, no fluid anywhere, inside footwells dry and a fault code showing ‘p199e cylinder head coolant valve open circuit’

Other Info - car heats up fast, no hot air coming from vents, car doesn’t overheat but sits at 90.

    2013 2.0 Tdi mk7 golf bluemotion.

I’ve read somewhere it could be some pressure sensor / converter exhaust control… really don’t know tbh.

Any advice? Is this a common fault!?

    Thanks in advance

You may have at least two separate problems here. The pre 2017 Golf 7 suffers terrible problems with a blocked heater matrix which we have found impossible to unblock and the coolant pump is prone to leaking and contains the valve in question. Ignore what the dash gauge says, it is useless BUT if it does go over 90 that means the engine is at a real 116 and climbing. In your case we would be doing cam belt and water pump, full system pressure back flush, new heater matrix and G12 Evo coolant mixed 60/40 distilled water/concentrated coolant and retrieving the little tea bag of silica additive from the header tank.
