    Hi everyone,

I've got an issue with the telescopic extension on my steering column. I believe the end stop is broken (the white plastic item in the photo - the photo is 90 degrees left though that's not the orientation i took it in).

In addition to that, if the column is unlocked, then the stalks and whole clock spring unit can rotate a few degrees either way (yt link below)

I'm going to assume that this isn't an easy fix.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on / what needs doing?

    Thanks.

I can't find anything on the offline TPI list I have but it is a bit out of date. What an insane number of steering column units! 21 on that car alone according to age and spec. The column is only available as a complete assembly and the one used in your car, 4G0 419 502 S, changed part number 4G0 419 502 AB in December 2016 with your car having been built 28.07.2015, it retails at £1139.51

Ooffttt. Thanks for looking into it Crasher.

Given it seems it's just a cosmetic issue at the moment (no issues with driving) I can't justify the price tag associated with changing the whole unit.

Next time it's in for a service, I'll see if they've come across anything like it.

    Thanks again.
