001840 gear ratio monitoring p0730 incorrect gear ratio

Hi all, i got this fault on my A6 2007 2.0l TDI 16.07.2022, but the engine management didnt come on until 21.07.2022, anyway the fault code is

001840 gear ratio monitoring p0730 incorrect gear ratio intermittent

the car has 165k on it, gearbox fluid was changed 40k miles ago, could it be a simple case it needs new fluid? if more, is this easy for a specialist to diagnose?

I would start with an oil change.

Cheers, i have booked it in next wednesday. I cleared the fault code and the guy said if the fault code it needs to be in the system in order for him to better find out what exactly the issue is, so i am hoping/and not hoping the fault happens again if you know what i mean.
