Hi, just about to change filters plugs and oil, I have recently bought 20 litres of Quantum long life 3 oil VW spec 504 00 507 00. It’s 5W30. My 2014/15 A5 TFSI Quattro is NOT an oil burner as it’s the better engine, is this oil correct? as some are using 5W40. I don’t race it around either. Cheers.

Which engine code? If VW 502.00 for example then that can be found in 0/5/10/15W30/40 viscosity depending on the oil technology and manufacturer. But not all oils of those SAE are VW502.00 approved.

Thanks Gazworld, that’s what I was thinking too. Have been using TPS for years and always bought the Longlife 3 fully synthetic oil from them at a very reasonable price. Always change th oil every 6k miles. My old B5 1.8iT had 220K on the clock and my B6 1.8T had 170K on clock, both still running sweet and always used LL 3. I believe the quantum oil is Castrol anyway.

Just about everything gets LL3 5w/30 unless it requires something else. We get through 205 litre drums of the stuff.
