    Afternoon all,

Not been on for a while but have worked my way through a C6 2.7tdi, C7 3.0 tdi and now on a 2019 C8 50tdi.

My current 50tdi died on me at the weekend, 1am on the A69 in complete darkness “electrical system malfunction, please stop the vehicle”, lost all power and stopped on the brow of a hill half on, half off the road. No lights in the car whatsoever, only the hazards on eth wing mirrors giving a weak flash.

Car is 4 weeks out of warranty and no-one (RAC, AA, Green flag, Audi assist) was willing to offer any assistance, so sat on the embankment till the police came by 2.5 hours later

Is anyone aware of any issues like this on the C8 variant? Car has 38k miles on it and has been looked after since new

    Many thanks in advance

I've had the car transported back to Glasgow for my local independent guys to have a look at. I’m told that on initial investigation that the Starter Generator has failed and being quoted just over £2k to replace it

As the car is now out of warranty, and I’m potentially looking at £3.5k (minimum) out of pocket, does anyone have any experience of Audi rectifying issues like this when I’m only 4 weeks out of warranty.

Should I approach Audi UK, or stick with the local dealer where I buy my cars?

    Any advice much appreciated

Start with the dealer. That's where you're contract is. They'll probably escalate to Audi. See if they come back with anything sensible.

    Hi,

I spoke with dealer and was told as I was out of warranty, they would not assist unless I went through Audi UK, their response was very similar TBH so I got it fixed and my local independent who had it fixed and back on the road 4 weeks and £2.2k later.
The car was sold last week and after 4 Audi’s over the years, I will never touch one again!
Appears a few folks in the states have experienced similar issues, but they get 4-years & 48k miles so they are ok with it!
