My car is a 2018 24k miles and I have coolant leak on right side of engine just above bell housing, coolant level warning light came on. I checked engine bay and it seemed nothing obvious until I noticed that coolant had been weeping collecting onto the bell housing.
Having read a few posts now it’s apparent coolant leak is a common issue mines leaking oil on the right side of engine when standing in front of car.
Cars lost half litre and did not overheat. The hoses don’t seem to be leaking. Having read numerous posts stating that the housing is a common issue. Is it the gaskets that perish ? Because I managed to find a supplier for the gaskets ? I don’t fancy purchasing a whole housing just because of gaskets or is it the case the housing warps ?
My housing seems to be made of metal not plastic.

I’ve attached pic of replacement thermostat waterpump housing and the replacement gasket and link for gaskets anyone with similar issue.
Someone pls advise if I can get away with just replacing gaskets

    thanks in advance

Usually that is the pump module which has been revised to part number 05E 121 111 R and costs £200.04 genuine retail inc VAT. This does come with the gasket but not the belt. If yours has the ally top cover it means it will already have been replaced.

Thanks this is mine from the side angle, should it have failed the leak is quite discernible is it the gasket that fails or the whole housing that warps ?

The info on ETKA is confusing, it says that type was only used from August 2021 but it looks older than that. When it is off, it should have a manufacturing date and part number on it. If it is less than two years old and genuine then it has a two year dealer backed warranty BUT you need the TPS or dealer invoice. What is the VIN?

Built 05.10.2018 so when it comes off it should have part number 05E 121 111 J which is now 05E 121 111 R

What did they change in the superseded part no ?
We’re the older ones prone to failing ? it is it just the gasket that fails ?

It has so far chnaged part number and design five times, the silicon seal is never the problem, it is the design of the unit.
