    Is there a tool that actually works (the 2 set one i got is FOS) and dont open it at all.

    The Sykes 08485000 is excellent but a bit expensive for DIY use also slow and clunky for workshop use



    the official VW tools are utterly useless so for speed I took an old pry bar and ground the end to imitate the VW cam wedge design but a lot wider and then bent the last two inches at 90 degrees after heating it up red hot and this is quick but can slip and fly off at you with some force.
