Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of help

there's a pipe under the drivers side of the car that seems to have signs of leakage, the front of the pipe looks like this

Further back it looks like it's had a leak

My wife drove over something in the road and said there was a quite loud clonk under the car, can anyone tell me what this pipe is, and what's its holding?

I am now also loosing a small amount of water and can't see where that's going, but this looks like it's ribbed for cooling possibly, so that might be a coincidence and another issue

    Many thanks

that it is, well it def looks like it. thank you so much for the heads up, much appreciated. So nothing to do with my water issue.... but a far greater issue if it's fuel I'm leaking at these current prices.

    Thanks again

I assumed you'd say it must be fuel leaking then.

If you think it is water then a few things come to mind:
    1. Rear washer hose leaking, and water escaping through floor bung. If you squirt rear washer does it take time to come through, as if the pipe has drained?
    2. Water ingress to body that has gathered under carpets / padding and escaping through bung. If so may be worth exploring if any electronic boxes are bolted to that part of floor.
    3. Water trickling along outside of line from engine, so a leak in windscreen fluid, etc. Presumably you'd have noticed a radiator leak.
