A4 B8.5 Allroad Starter Jammed

On my 2016 year Allroad I have the symptoms of a jammed starter. Has anyone experienced this? I have never had it in driving almost 20 years in A4s. At first I assumed the battery was low, but overnight on charger made no difference. I’ll try rocking in gear but she is not a light car and I am only a lightweight!
is there an accessible nut on the end of the starter motor?

I would be surprised if it was faulty, I would be more inclined to suspect water damage in the plenum chamber e-box.

I have removed the lid of the box of electrical gubbins at the offside of the plenum chamber. All dry in there and pretty clean but a hint of dirt on the seal at the back of the lid.
