Why do you need to put it in wheel change mode?

I have had tyres fitted, swapped fronts to rears etc, taken them off for cleaning and never used wheel changing mode. I must rtfm. I must confess I can't see what purpose it does unless you can use the suspension to raise one specific wheel like you can in a range rover

    help needed!!
i have changed both rear level sensors ,cleared fault .the issue is still there .if i raise suspension it goes up fine ,when i try to lower it .it goes down so far and same fault code comes back and level indicator on screen flashes. but i drive the car for a few yards .and level indicator is all good .if i drive in comfort mode and do not try to raise suspension everything is fine for hundreds of miles and all is good
