    Hello community,

I have a B5 with the 2.5TDI AKN engine and it's being serviced (almost) from top to bottom.

At the moment, the sumps are ready to mount, but, i need the o-ring for the upper sump. Can anyone confirm that the o-ring (number 47 - OEM N90774201) for the sealing flange, is the same that mounts on the upper sump (picture 2)?

In ETKA the o-ring 47 is listed with 2 units, but the diagram just shows the mounting point of 1.

Hope you can help me, thank you in advance.

Yes, N 907 742 01 for cars produced from 18.02.2002 with front flange 059 103 150 K and upper sump 059 103 603 M, before this there was no O ring, just sealant, and they leaked.

Crasher my front flange is the 059103153R, it only takes 1 oring, and it seems to be thicker than the N 907 742 01.

My engine is from 2000, AKN reference, and the upper carter also has a thicker oring than the N 907 742 01. From the measurements, it's a 24x19,5 milimiter with 2 to 2,5 milimiter thickness.

    Can anyone confirm this?

ETKA shows the O ring as being N 907 742 01 and specifies it as 20.35x1.78. It says 059 103 153 R changed to 059 103 153 J which went obsolete in 2020 but does not say what it fits across all four brands! If your engine had an upper sump gasket, this is deleted and replaced with silicone sealant D176 404 M2.
