    Hi there. New to this.

    I have a 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0TDi B7 BRE

I have scanned the car and I am throwing up a P1699 code. I have no clue with coding. So interested in whether anyone has had this issue and managed to get it sorted??

    Thanks in advance

Does your car have cruise control fitted?

Is it working if it is fitted?

    Ross Tech, suggests:P1699

    Possible Symptom

    • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON
    • Cruise Control not working

    Possible Cause

    • Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Steering Wheel Electronics (J527) faulty
    • Cruise Control System Switch (E45) faulty

    Possible Solution

    • Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Steering Wheel Electronics (J527)
    • Check/Replace Cruise Control System Switch (E45)

    Special Notes

    • When retrofitting Cruise Control make sure to have the Wiring done right. If you activate the Cruise Control prior to properly retrofitting the Wiring and the Cruise Control Lever/Stalk you will also find this Fault Code being stored.

I've just spoken to 1 of the boys in work. My tracking/geometry is way out after having some suspension work carried out.

He thinks it could possibly be due to that. Perhaps once done and reset of steering angle sensor may sort it??

I'm not really sure where the steering angle sensor is located, I'd assumed it was part of the slip ring which sits just under the steering wheel. Might be worth simply clearing the code and see if it comes back a second time? Maybe the works caused the issue like you say, and it just needs resetting. Do you have access to VCDS to clear the code?

Just keep a copy of the scan in case you need it to show a garage.

You know what mate. It was my tracking after all. No more error code.
