Yes, that would be a nice conversion, basically the same as I did last year on my AUQ engined Octavia from an 02J with 228mm to an 02M with 240mm

With the 6 speed, is there any problems with the Instrument cluster or ECM?

On my Octavia all I had to do was change the ECU coding from 5 to 6 speed which was easy as the same ECU is used in the Golf 4 180PS and Leon Cupra which comes as 6 speed so the option is there in the coding table, you would need to check the coding tables in the ECU and instruments to see if the gearbox number of speeds is mentioned plus try changing the coding first to make sure it will allow the change as it is not unknown for an option to be rejected.

I will check tis evening, I have read on B6 forums that there is not a change for a 6 Speed. From What I read the Instrument Cluster speedometer will drop to 0 in 6th gear. So that may not be a viable idea for me. Can you check and see what a SMF and upgraded cultch pressure plate and friction plate you would recommend?

I checked last night and there was no option for a 6 speed in the ECU and could not change the coding, it was rejected.

So I guess a SMF will have to be my only option. Any recomendations?

I Have decided to go with the Valeo SMF HD Set. Looking for the VAG tool to align the disk when I mount it. Anyone know which one that is?

The Valeo clutch was installed yesterday. It has a super light feel on the petal. Grabs at 1/2 way and feels very good. Now to break it in over the next 1000 miles and see if there is any change. Did a 2nd and 3rd gear pull and no slipping. Very happy with it.

Crasher, You were a big help with your input. Well a clutch doesn't give you 2 -3 weeks notice that it will fail, I would have liked to meet you and see your facilities. Someday.

Also Old guy on the AZ forum had a lot of input.

    Thanks all for your help.
