    hello everyone,

Skoda superb 2017 CRLB engine 2.0 TDI 150 hp 110kw

Back at the end of September engine management light came on with 7849 - EGR Sensor 1 P046C 00 [044] - Implausible Signal

Long story short after digging and going around the EGR valve was changed and also the differential pressure sensor in November. All was good till December when you guess it it came back again after about 3 weeks of driving. Since the fault is intermittent with a weird pattern. initially engine light was of Monday morning and was lighting up Thursday afternoon on the way back from work. Drive journey is about 56 miles one way on M1; After few weeks of this i realized i was only doing 2-3 trips 5 miles each if even that over the weekend that was causing the light to clear itself for Monday morning.(concluded this after last weekend when i did not use the car and Monday morning light was still on, me expecting to have the usual behaviour to clear itself).

The car seen already a few garages the shook their heads after egr and sensor change and could not tell me what needs to be done.
Recently i bought the genuine vcds as i realized with my scanner i could not get more detailed info so i am going to get you bored and annoyed with a long scan log if anyone is curios to look into it and give me some advice.

i deleted the scans for non faults modules to reduce log size. trying to clear dtc does not clear abs, steering and acc, and all the rest reappear after short drive and even if the engine does not come on the egr will be in pending.

Not sure if if is any relevance but battery was also changed in Octomber with a varta and its parameters set into the car via vcds.(the change did not eliminate any codes or made any difference except starting a tad faster)

Any input on this mess welcome,

It is the right part so now it has to go to the dealer to be assessed for warranty.

Let's hope it is faulty. We hate having a fault with a genuine TPS part as the rules are that the car has to go to the brand it was fitted to. We have a T5 we did a sliding door lock on and it has failed and the thought of dealing with Nottingham Van Centre has made us fit a new one and kiss £200 goodbye, it is just not worth the stress... the TPS warranty isn't fit for purpose.

Time to update i think... Long story short the egr+cooler assembly was replaced as the egr i put in was deemed faulty (just 300£ or so of the window). Not sure what was exactly wrong with the existing cooler.

1006£ later i got the car back (auci😳&#128557 and ... Monday morning light came on again, got the vcds out from the boot and same fault again only faster this time!🤔in less de 50 miles on a single run.

Anyways i phoned the garage up took it back next morning and half a day later was sorted apparently it needed a software update...500 miles since this happened all seems to be good in terms of engine alectronic fault codes. Now seems i am left with another issue as i am getting exhaust fumes in the cabin which is even worse when the car does a regen.

Not sure if this is relavant but in vcds now i have:

Checksum of flash: 6B84 and before was 71EA for as long as i remember back in 2019 till beginning of this month.

Did not got any advice on the steering or brakes fault but they adviced i have a small leak belts side and a chip in the windscreen ( that i was already aware of)

Part numbers replaced from invoice: 04L131512BQ; 04L131455A and 04L131547.

The checksum checks the version of software so this ties in with your software update.

The fumes in the cabin could mean you have 2 leaks, 1 the source from the exhaust and the 2nd around the plenum chamber allowing air from the engine compartment in.

The usually cause is the turbo V band being reused.
