    Default 50TDI oil spec? – 13-04-2022,07:00 PM
    Howdy,

    Dumb question, search didn’t work that well on the phone.

    Trying to find out what spec oil the 50TDI uses for top ups?

    Owners handbook says dealer can advise correct spec for engine; in an emergency you can topup using VW 504/507 but only once.

    I didn’t get a topup bottle in this one like previous; but have some Castrol Edge Longlife III 5W-30 knocking around if that will do?

    No, sadly not.

    Asked one of the ladies on service yesterday and she said 0w-20 which doesn’t feel right; I’ll ask them to confirm again.

    Tried to use the castrol finder and it doesn’t recognise my reg number.

    Sadly nowt either. Car was registered late December ‘21. Depends when their database was updated I suppose.

    Eventually found it, commenting for others. 2021 A6 50TDI with the DMGA Engine - 0w30.
